SPRING SEMESTER UPDATES
ALLY WEEK (APRIL 13th-APRIL 17th)
Prism has organized two events for Ally Week this year.
"Allies in Greek Life: A Panel Discussion"
Join IGC and PRISM as we gather to hear constructive ways to build allyship in Greek life. As part of the Greek Week programming, a panel of assorted queer Greek life members will share their experiences of being both queer and in a fraternity or sorority. Join us in Ed 202 from 3pm-4pm as we learn about how Greek life can foster allyship and discuss issues faced by queer Greeks!
"Breaking the Silence"
Join us on Friday, April 17th for National Day of Silence. There will be a PRISM table outside of the SSB lawn during the day so people can take the pledge towards creating safer and more inclusive schools. Join us later to break the silence in Bliss Hall Lounge at 6pm for a coffeehouse, which will consist of student performances (including poetry and music) and an open mic for anyone inspired by the night's events. Food and drinks will be provided.
Since 1996, the National Day of Silence has aimed to create safer schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. It began at the University of Virginia and has since spread to over 8,000 middle schools, high schools, colleges and universities across the country.
Meetings are at 3:00 PM every Wednesday in the BSC 210.
